Vietnam’s Ministry of Trade announced on Tuesday that it has levied anti-dumping measures ranging from 25.73% to 32.75% on sugar imports from major Thai sugar producers. These duty, effective from August 18 until June 15, 2026, follow a comprehensive and equitable inquiry into allegations of unfair competitive practices.

The ministry’s decision reflects a meticulous evaluation of the situation. Notably, a substantial anti-dumping duty of 32.75% will be imposed on Mitr Phol Sugar, the largest sugar and bioenergy producer in Asia, along with its affiliated entities. Similarly, Thai Roong Ruang Industry and its five affiliated companies will encounter an anti-dumping duty of 25.73%, coupled with an anti-subsidy duty of 4.65%, according to the official statement.
