Effects of Toppings on Sugarcane Quality and in Sugar, Alcohol and Energy

Silva, J.F. and de A. Silva, G.M.  1980.  The paper presents the results of analysis of burned and unburned cane, with and without tops. The recoverable sugar and alcohol were calculated by empirical formula and the excess energy produced was calculated after the factory thermical balance.  With the excess of bagasse produced by cane with tops it will be possible to produce more energy per hectare than using cane without tops.
