Application of the Continuous Vacuum Pan to the Third Strikes

Riviere, M. and Pithois, P.  1976.  A continuous vacuum pan was installed by Fives-Cail Babcock at the Quartier Francais Sugar Factory, Reunion, during the 1973 crushing season. In these experiments, the B and C sugars are mingled with runoffs from strikes of higher purities constituting magmas which are used respectively as footing for the A and B massecuites and only the A sugar is sold.
